Every year you can watch this spectacle when the moon is rising and the sun goes down at the same time. Well, at least it looks like it because the true reason for this natural phenomenon is a volcano that becomes active once a year. The glowing lava sets the whole valley in a orange light while the moon rises over the city.

Painted from the scratch in Photoshop. Pheww, I spent hours on it and this was far the biggest painting I ever did. Enjoy! :)

Very nice painting! You have a great imagination and skill to back it up.
Reminds me of Lord of the Rings, but it doesn't look like any scenery from the movie (nor book).

Great piece anyway! I always love these landscape Photoshop paintings!
You have some serious skill! This image is amazing as usual! I envy your mind that knows how to put these scenes together. I adore the sky, the colours and textures you've created are wonderful! the sunrays lightly coming through as such a nice touch and helps from keeping everything from looking too dark! Plus, all those buildings must have taken you aaages! Your poor hand! It needs some ice or something or perhaps a strong drink after all this. XDD
Pheww, I spent hours on it and this was far the biggest painting I ever did.

But it was a good idea!
This happens just in your imaginary town or it happens in a real town too?
great lighting!! i do kind of miss whats in the foreground though, but overall i really like it.

Amazing. The lighting is great; not too dark and not too light to mess up the mood. The atmosphere is great, and I like the colors you used. Is that a train is see(at the bottom left of the tower)? :+fav:

I love it and the desription gives it that extra bang! It rminds me of Numenor from the Silmarillion (in case you didn't know that was the massive fortress of Sauron's master in the Lord of the Rings, though you probobly knew that ^^;) well enough of my babel! Your best piece thus far.
